Overall – I would say 10 and older for this movie. These pass quickly (maybe 30 seconds – 1 minute each).

One is the movie Cujo and the other is Chucky. But you can see the movie and hear the sounds which could be scary to younger kids. In two different scenes, there are horror movies playing in the background. There are a few different characters that are possessed by ghosts – and there is one scene that is very creepy. My 10-year-old was ok – but I would probably say no younger than that until you have previewed it. While they didn’t make it as creepy as they could have – it will probably frighten younger viewers. Also, the word fracking is used in place of the F word at one point.Īlcohol, Drugs & Smoking – Mom references drinking a few times, they are drinking on a date, and she has a wine glass on the table where she has fallen asleep.įrightening & Intense Scenes – Anything to do with the ghosts is pretty intense and some of them are frightening. Profanity – Several uses of OMG, and a few uses of Dammit, Shit, Hell, Ass(hole), and a mouthed F word. But for the most part, it is fairly clean. The “dogs” are pretty violent and creepy. Violence & Gore – Some fight scenes with the ghosts. Cleavage of the mom in the dress at the end of the movie. While changing clothes, it shows a short scene of a girl in her bra as she pulls her top up. The word isn’t said but things like “bone” and “humpy”. Be sure to stay until the VERY end of the credits. Mysterious happenings, curious and smart kids, and help from the afterlife come together to bring us a great new modern Ghostbusters that I hope they keep making movies for! I also loved seeing Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson in this and would also love to see them in the next movie(s).
Mysterious and intense, the first few minutes of the movie sets the mood for the rest of the movie.
The storyline of the movie pulls you in right from the beginning. Add this all to the mom (played by Carrie Coon) and the teacher (played by Paul Rudd), and you have a great cast with great chemistry. The friends Podcast (played by Logan Kim) and Lucky (played by Celeste O’Conner) added so much humor and depth to the movie. Trevor (played by Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (played by Mckenna Grace) did an amazing job as the leading rolls in this movie. We all love the Ghostbusters movies and we were ready for another one that brought forward a new generation of “Ghostbusters”. We have been waiting for a long time for this movie. We were able to attend a screening to write this Ghostbusters: Afterlife parents guide.
